Ostara

Ostara us the pagan celebration of fertility, warmth and the official start of spring! Symbols include Rabbits, Eggs, Flowers, seeds and anything freshly sprouting and green. Ostara traditions include gathering flowers for the altar, planting seeds, decorating eggs and embracing life awakening from the deep slumber of winter.

Snow moon
The Snow moon or ‘The Hungry’ Moon as the Cherokee call it, is in the thick of winter, when the temperatures are at their lowest and snow is at its peak for the season. At this time resources would be hard to come by and the reserves from last season are running low. We go internal as we wait out the end of the cold, knowing that the days are slowly getting longer and spring is just around the corner. It may not be strong, but we do see that light at the end of the tunnel. Stretch the resources we have left and reserve our power only for what is truly necessary.
February’s new moon starting in Pisces brings us the motivation, confidence and optimism for ‘Fresh starts’ and diving into new projects. Fitting for a time most people are starting to lose momentum from the new year’s resolutions they’ve made. Rather then ditching the last, less exciting project incomplete, take this energy and relook at what made you choose that resolution in the first place. Envision how your life will be once you’ve achieved this goal and hold onto that. We’re a month into the year now, assess what we are currently doing to make it happen. What’s working, what isn’t? We don’t need a new goal, but maybe just a new approach and make it happen with a fresh perspective and manifest until its complete!
